Message	needs to have a specific size enclosure to perform to its optimize performance. they usually give the required dimensions of the enclosure box and type(sealed,ported) in the manual of the subwoofer. Too big of a box or too small of a enclosure will affect the sound quality. A home-made enclosure made within to the required specifications for the subwoofer can sound just as good or even better than a JL Stealth Box.
